Lazenby installed over 400m² of Cool Grey polished concrete floor and a 3m x 1m wrap-around worktop during two separate one week installations. The floor was laid 100mm deep over a concrete subbase. The plywood formwork for the worktop incorporated the reinforcing and was built on top of the floor after it had sufficiently cured. The ebony chemical stain as applied to the outside faces of the worktop, by hand, to dramatic effect. The wooden cladding and storage to the worktop was retrofitted by the main contractor after Lazenby’s work was complete.

During the curing period Lazenby’s polished concrete floor was fully protected, with areas only cut away for other trades with Lazenby’s written permission. Concrete must be allowed to cure evenly to achieve success.

Cool Grey polished concrete is one of Lazenby’s more popular concrete colours and it’s pre-cast equivalent is Fossil; ideal for tiles, stair treads and other great features, the possibilities are endless.
