Project detail

Designed by AR Design Studio, this five-bedroom family home features an expansive open-plan kitchen, living and dining area. More than 300m2 of our polished concrete flows throughout this lower floor and into a sunken living area, connected to the kitchen by two polished concrete steps.

Our concrete flooring wraps around the glazing with a 300mm upstand to create the sunken area. With carefully positioned structural columns, this split-level design roots the property in its woodland setting, creating a sense of cohesive permanence.

Windows and glazing by Maxlight ensure ample light all year round, creating a dynamic space that adapts to changing light levels throughout the day. With subtle dark grey and blue pigments, Basalt is a timeless but grounded colour choice, enhanced by the abundant natural light.

Lazenby’s iconic concrete works with Maxlight’s windows to capture and retain heat from the sun, evenly distributing it across the entire ground floor to reduce energy costs and maximise sustainability.

With environmental concerns in mind, we reduced the project’s overall carbon footprint by incorporating cement alternatives into the concrete mix. The result is a sustainable family home designed to stand the test of time.
