The innovative new market building at Hawley Wharf features a stunning open-to-the-elements perimeter and a versatile interior designed to support ever-changing market stalls. This meant that the flooring had to be robust, versatile and weather proof. Our Diamond Polished Concrete fit the brief to a tee. A beautifully
natural finish
Our team of experts produce each floor using locally sourced materials and aggregate, meaning each floor is unique in appearance due to this natural variance. This provides a floor that is beautifully tied into its local surroundings. In addition to the natural sand and aggregate colours, we are able to darken the concrete colour with colour pigments if required.
Once poured we have light, medium, or heavy diamond polishing options, to give either matt, satin or gloss finishes. The required exposed aggregate concrete finishes are achieved using planetary diamond grinders and single head machines incorporating metal bond and resin diamonds. The final stage after diamond polishing is the application of a sealant coating to help limit the risk of staining.
Unlike terrazzo flooring, the aggregate colour and distribution in diamond polished concrete floors is not completely even, giving a distinctive, raw industrial characteristic. This has a cost advantage, with our Diamond Polished Concrete floor being far more cost effective compared to traditional terrazzo.

With a thickness of 100mm, Lazenby Diamond Polished Concrete is also extremely hard wearing when compared to alternative materials. This thickness means that it is possible to incorporate underfloor heating pipes within the concrete, creating a thermally efficient space.

The beauty of a Lazenby Diamond Polished Concrete floor is that it gives a natural concrete finish combined with the beauty of locally sourced aggregate and colour. In some scenarios, colour options or seeded aggregate are available, please speak to our team to discuss this further. We can provide bespoke floor samples after an order has been placed for approval prior to installing the final floor.We’re able to offer a multitude of finishes, depending on the level of exposure required. This ranges from fine aggregate exposure to structural aggregate exposure. If you’re unsure please speak to our team who can guide you through the choices available.
