Project detail
Interior designer Nichola McKerrow-Todd wanted to create a seamless and connected social space at the heart of her Edwardian home in North London. The light-filled extension features an open-plan kitchen, living, and dining area arranged across a 70m2 polished concrete floor. Another 70m2 of concrete extends into the garden, supporting an outdoor kitchen and fire pit. A grand total of 140m2 in our signature colour, Cool Grey.
Nichola was drawn to polished concrete’s smooth and uninterrupted finish. “Because there’s no visual break lines, we can move seamlessly between the lounge, the kitchen and the dining area, and it feels zoned but not prohibitive.”
With its neutral base and charismatic presence, Cool Grey beautifully complements a natural colour and materials palette inspired by Biophilic principles. Lush garden silhouettes, exquisitely reflected in the polished concrete, complete the indoor-outdoor aesthetic, harmoniously balancing the natural and man-made. “There’s no barrier between the inside and the outside. They’re one space.” — Nichola McKerrow-Todd.
