Case Study
Bayleaf
Welcome to Bayleaf where a stunning extension breathes fresh life into a 1960s residence, creating a contemporary bridge between the original house and garage.
Project detail
Homeowners Greg and his family had a bold vision to re-centre their Kent home, constructing a bright and functional hub for family life. The new open-plan kitchen, dining and living area is now the heart of this home using polished concrete. Providing a minimalist counterpoint to the magnificent views while complementing the stark interior design, the solidity and permanence of polished concrete exudes calmness. A perfect foundation for the ebb and flow of family life.
To help connect the new extension to the existing house, which was over a 1 metre level change, we formed and poured 7 concrete steps in a matching colour to the floor. One of these steps was cleverly extended to run across the width of the house to form a hearth and seating area.
