Project detail

Day 1 – Preparation for cantilever worktop: A toe footing was cast in the sub floor with 20mm reinforcing bar for the cantilever worktop.

Days 2 to 4 – Polished concrete floor installation: 63m² of concrete screed was laid over under floor heating. Edges sealed, expansion joints marked, cut and sealed, floor prepared then sealed and buffed.

Day 5 (one week later) – Cast in-situ cantilever worktop and step: Over 1 ton of high tensile steel reinforcing rods and 2 cubic meters of C32/40 concrete. Formwork precut off site. Two weeks from installation to striking. All apertures prepared ready for plumbing. Left to cure for four weeks.

Day 6 (four weeks later) – Seal cantilever worktop: Two coats of penetrative acrylic sealer, that allows the concrete to breathe, are applied and left to dry thoroughly.
