Lazenby’s Mayfair Grey polished concrete floor was installed 100mm deep over an existing concrete subbase. Bennetts Associates specified a brass trim detail rather than Lazenby’s standard saw cut joints to create an additional feature in the floor. Lazenby was specified because of their technical know-how and undisputed industry pedigree.
The business traffic throughout this building is significant and Lazenby’s polished concrete floor is the practical and timeless solution. The installation of the floor took almost two weeks to complete due to the complexities of setting up the brass inlays. Lazenby’s floor was installed before all of the internal finishes but the robust protection that was laid helped to ensure that the floor remained undamaged while building works continued.
Slip resistance is of paramount importance in most reception areas, this project was no exception and Lazenby applied an anti slip coating that ensures the floor not only looks great, but is safe to use in the wet. The interior design pays homage to the electronics retail industry that once defined the area and is a masterpiece in its own right.
