Technical detail:

6000m2 of Lazenby diamond polished concrete flooring and pre-cast stair treads for buildings in this rejuvenated part of London. Allford Hall Monaghan Morris specified Lazenby for this extensive project due to the high quality finish achievable on both the concrete floors and staircase.

Lazenby worked successfully with main contractors Mace to ensure that the installation of this vast area did not have any negative affects on the overall programme. Each level was installed separately and gradually handed back to the contractor to allow construction work to continue once the floors had been installed.

Lazenby’s diamond polished concrete flooring is 100mm deep with a joint grid spaced 5m apart. Locally sourced 10mm gravel aggregate has been used and polished to expose the natural beauty of the concrete.

Due to height restrictions the basement floor only allowed for a 20mm topping. Lazenby was able to lay a specialist topping that created a perfect match to the upper levels whilst also mainting the durability associated with a concrete floor.

Over 300 diamond polished pre-cast concrete stair treads were also produced to match the concrete flooring. These external treads were produced at 50mm thick and have a textured surface to give an anti-slip finish.
