CONCRETE + PLAYGROUNDS

Lazenby’s external concrete featured at Tumbling Bay, Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Riven stone effects, naturally shaped boulders and convenient water channels are just some of the external concrete for this exciting playground. By artist Mel Chantrey and image courtesy of The Fountain Workshop.

Installed back in 2013 and commissioned by the client LLDC, Tumbling Bay is a novel scheme located at the Hub. Designed by Erect Architecture and Land Use Consultants the whole play area is memorable, welcoming and safe. Lazenby involvement was to expertly supply and install 145 tonnes of themed decorative concrete within a play area of 600m2 .

Externals are where Lazenby started nearly 30 years ago. Theme parks and Wet and Play parks throughout the UK and even in France feature Lazenby externals. This kind of work is known as decorative concrete. Decorative being the operative word. From imprints of leaves, bird and animal tracks and sea shells to tyre-tracks, riven-effects and rock faces, Lazenby does it all.

Our technical experts are ready for your external concrete questions and are delighted to discuss your creative requirements. Why not contact us today: 01935 700306 (option 1) and visit Lazenby’s London Showroom by appointment.
